The CJA is the voice of the Canadian jewellery and watch industry to the Federal Government of Canada.

Our voice is unbiased and impartial.

The Government Relations Team is made up of seasoned experts with experience in government relations and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance.

  • La CJA aide ses membres à comprendre les lois et règlements canadiens qui régissent leur entreprise.
  • La CJA assure la liaison avec les organismes fédéraux suivants sur les questions qui touchent notre industrie : le Bureau de la concurrence, Innovation, Sciences et Développement économique (ISDE, anciennement Industrie Canada), Ressources naturelles Canada (RNCan), le ministère des Finances, le CANAFE, Mesures Canada et la GRC.
  • La CJA, en collaboration avec son partenaire Outlier Canada, fournit une expertise en matière de conformité à la AML/AFT afin d'aider le secteur à se conformer à la législation canadienne. (Accès à l'outil AML/AFT – voir la section « Adhésion »).
  • La CJA soutient le respect de la Loi sur la concurrence, de la Loi et du Règlement sur le poinçonnage des métaux précieux et de la Loi sur les poids et mesures.
  • La CJA représente les « négociants en métaux précieux et pierres précieuses » (DPMS) au sein du Comité consultatif du ministère des Finances sur la lutte contre le blanchiment d’argent et le financement du terrorisme.

Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC)

Canada’s financial intelligence unit and anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing supervisor. FINTRAC facilitates the detection, prevention and deterrence of money laundering and the financing of terrorist activities, while ensuring the protection of personal information under its control.
