FINTRAC Reporting 101 for DPMS (STR, LCTR, LVCTR, LPEPR)

Dealers in precious metals and precious stones (DPMS) are obligated to file several reports with FINTRAC. FINTRAC reports should be filed electronically.

FINTRAC’s Web Reporting System allows you to individually submit reports electronically to FINTRAC. It is a secure system that is for reporting entities with lower reporting volumes.

If you have higher reporting volumes, FINTRAC’s API report submission enables the secure, system-to-system transfer of report information to FINTRAC.

You can use Web Reporting or API to send reports to FINTRAC for the following reports that apply to the DPMS sector. We have included copies of paper copies for reference only, as you must file electronically if possible:

  •       Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR) STR-eng.pdf
  •       Large Cash Transaction Reports (LCTR)  LCTR-eng.pdf
  •       Large Virtual Currency Transaction Reports (LVCTR) LVCTR-eng.pdf
  •       Listed Person or Entity Property Reports (LPEPR) lpepr-eng.pdf . You must use the paper form to submit the LPEPR report.

If you don’t already use the system, enroll by contacting FINTRAC at: F2R@fintrac-canafe.gc.ca.
