The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated a 180-day transition period on October 21, 2024, to facilitate importers’ adaptation to the CARM Client Portal and allow time to secure the required financial security.
During this transition, CBSA temporarily suspended the obligation to post financial security, ensuring a smooth shift to the new CARM client portal. However, this grace period officially ends on April 19, 2025.
Importers must secure financial security before the deadline to prevent disruptions and ensure uninterrupted business operations.
