SUMMARY
The Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to support our retail sales partners. This role involves collaboration with sales teams and retail partners to ensure that products are effectively promoted and positioned in the market. This role must understand consumer behaviour, analyze market trends, and implement promotional campaigns to maximize product sales and visibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, manage and motivate a team of 2 marketing professionals.
• Create and implement trade marketing strategies that align with the company’s overall sales goals leading to increased market share and profitability for all product lines.
• Collaborate with the Precision Marketing Manager to ensure that initiatives are aligned.
• Identify market trends, customer preferences, and competitive activities to make informed trade marketing decisions.
• Design and execute promotional materials, including in-store display creative, product catalogues, point-of-purchase, and point-of-sale materials to drive product visibility.
• Track projects and assure timely or early completion to accommodate deadlines.
• Adhere to business-critical timelines for promotional material development.
• Adhere to brand guidelines across all trade marketing initiatives.
• Work with sales teams to create tailored strategies by retailer partner and sales channel.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners to ensure successful collaboration and product placement.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s product lines and competing brands in the industry/market.
• Provide training, and support on trade marketing initiatives.
• Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of trade marketing initiatives, using metrics to assess performance and make data-driven adjustments.
• Develop and adhere to marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources for maximum ROI with monthly presentation to management.
• Leverage business intelligence and data analytics in all aspects of the role.
• Analyze data and derive actionable insights to inform marketing strategies and present to management in an organized and easy to interpret manner.
• Assist the Director and Vice President roles in preparing and disseminating marketing initiatives as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in trade marketing, brand management, or comparable role within the consumer goods industry.
• Innovative thinking and ability to design engaging promotional campaigns and marketing materials.
• Must possess the ability to articulate and educate about trade marketing initiatives and requirements.
• Excellent written/verbal communication, project management, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience in SAP S4/Hana public cloud would be an asset.
• Ability to negotiate effectively for sourcing. Negotiations will be with suppliers, retail partners, and other departments.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development.
• Ability to pivot strategies based on market feedback and changing consumer trends.
• A polished professional appearance and attitude as this role interacts with vendors and retail partners.
• Must have excellent English and French language skills, both written and spoken. The ability to write and articulate clearly is a must. Requires proficiency in crafting persuasive messaging and building relationships with retail partners.
• Must be a quick learner, proactive, and enjoy a busy environment.
• Must possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Occasionally, this role may involve standing for a couple of hours and lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Flexibility in terms of hours of work, recognizing that there will be a need for overtime.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, their own vehicle, and the willingness/ability to travel. Some travel may be required for store visits, trade shows, events, and meetings.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Position Type: Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Leave through to end of September 2025)
Benefits: Subject to start date
Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Location: Onsite at Markham office 5 days a week, no hybrid, no remote
